Hi,

My name is Terry, I have been interested in photography for many many years, from my first Kodak Brownie, to taking time laps image from the dash of my car going down the freeway with an old RolleiFlex twin lens reflex camera onto 35mm and finally into the Digital world.

I learned the in and outs of photography through reading many book, looking at a lot of photographs from other photographers, learning the rules, then breaking those rules. Going on trips and taking photos of a waterfall or fast moving stream it always took a few images, one at high speed to capture the moment, the next at a slow shutter speed to show the motion, it was something I loved to do but I never got to see my work until the film was developed and I got to see the results of what I did.

I started doing a few weddings with a couple of Canon AE-1 series 35mm cameras, I realized I loved doing this type of work, not only taking those traditional photos but trying to capture those spontaneous moments when people don't realize someone is pointing a camera at them.

Later on in life around 2000 I bought my first Canon EOS 35mm camera, high tech, digital read outs and all kinds of bells and whistles, a Rebel 2000. My AE-1 Series cameras were retired and put in a box. One day my son came up to me and asked if I still had those old 35mm cameras, well yes I did and to my surprise he was planning on taking photography classes and wanted to use them.

It was a good structured class, the kind I never got to take, learning all the tricks of the trade, not just taking photos but developing film as well.

After a period of time, somehow he ended up with my EOS which he loved, at that time he used that one as his main camera but also would bring along the old standby's and as for me I ended up with a nice Point and Shoot digital camera (uhg).

Finally one day I asked him if he would be interested in doing photography to make some money and almost immediately he said yes. We had a little money and decided that Digital was the way for us to go and we kept with the Canon line because we could still use those lenses from my old EOS and save us some money.

This went on for a little while but yielded very little money for us and I was out of a regular 8 to 5 job things became really tight, Eventually I moved to the East Coast, found some work and started doing photography again, only this time as an enthusiast and volunteering with the Scouts and documenting some of their activities.

I need to start updating my photos and will do so soon. This activity (Photography) has been good therapy and gives me a reason to get out and do something on my days off.
